Yes, you are hearing right. The family and I took a 2 week vacation in Cannes, France. We rented a little house with a pool and view of the Mediterranean Sea. Going to the beach was my favorite activity, as it reminded me of my life back home. There are literally no waves in the ocean though, so it was great to bring all the kids out and swim and play and watch the pretty sail boats float on by. I got to take a train to Monaco, 2nd smallest country in the world besides the Vatican City, and to a 3 mile long market in Italy. I don't want to complain, but 2 weeks was a long time to be stuck with the entire family including both grandmothers who do not get along. 10 minutes after we all got home from the 8 hour drive, the grandmas were yelling at each other and one left crying. That was the drama of the month. I have realized that my life here has little to no drama, which is something I am trying to enjoy as much as possible. So as much fun as it was to be in The Cote d'Azur, it is nice to be home. We were welcomed with rainstorms, clouds that cover the top halves of all the mountains, and almost freezing temperatures which have all the Swiss Folk in an uproar, but me excited with the chill in the air. I adore the fall colours in the trees and vineyards, and can't stop thinking about the ski season coming up.......
I'm getting some pretty autumn pictures ready for the next post....
