7 hour hike

Gaby, my ever so caring and generous friend from the mountains vaca, has been inviting me to go along with her the past few weekends to festivals and things with her family. This past weekend, she asked me if i wanted to join her and her 3 friends to go on a grand hike in the vineyards and forests above her house. I was so happy to go along, as i love being outdoors and seeing more of this region. The hike turned out to be about 7 hours long, most of which we were walking in some sort of rain cloud. It was so beautiful, and quiet with little noise besides the occasional animal yelp. The first half was uphill, which did some serious, but awesome, damage to my calves. When we reached our destination, i guess you could call it the top, we stopped and had some tasty pizza. It started to get very chilly, and as we were climbing down, there was a car that started to turn around in front of us. Gaby said something about our taxi arriving, and i laughed and thought how nice that would be. Then everyone started getting inside, and i realized after we all got home that it was one of the woman's husbands. O boy. What would we do without our men? I carpooled with a great girl, fluent in english, and laughed and goofed around like i haven't since i got here. I really think i am going to see more of her. Anyways, these are some nice photos of the day....ciao
