new friend!

today i made a friend! she babysits for the kids when i am off. we went shopping and to a nice cafe on the top floor of the mall. she is very kind and i hope to see lots more of her soon.

ps here is a photo of the kids and i at an amusement park in germany. we drove there last weekend to stay with the kids' gma, who lives right on the border of france, germany, and switzerland (in france). believe me you haven't laughed as hard as when you hear people speaking german! i don't really know why i think it's so funny. i just don't see how it can be a formal language. we road the "cups of coffee" and it was all just nice. i had my own hotel room with clara, and i decided that meant a party! not really but we had fun giggling until kind of late and i was blamed the next day when she was a little whiny mess bc she was so tired..oops (= my bad. the last is a photo of an old house in the alsace region of france, where we stayed.
